Spoilers and new episodes beginning on Friday

news | March 29th, 2008 at 9:14 pm | Share This | 2 Comments »

New episodes return THIS FRIDAY! Don’t forget. Set those DVR’s! I will still be putting up caps and clips as the season continues.

I’ve received a couple emails about this, and since I’m not really a fan of spoilers myself (I like surprises!), I was reluctact to read it. However I was feeling rather gutsy today and decided to finally see what the fuss is about. I will not be posting it as a main news item, because I know many don’t like spoilers. But if anybody wants to read a very major spoiler for next season (and most likely this season as well), check it out here.

Introducing Beckett Mancuso Chung

news | February 21st, 2008 at 12:52 pm | Share This | 7 Comments »

Numb3rs’ star Diane Farr, 34, and her husband, marketing exec Seung Chung, 37, introduce their son Beckett Mancuso, 9 months, in the latest issue of Us Weekly. Beckett, born on March 16th, is named for Irish poet and playwright Samuel Beckett, while his middle name is a family name on Diane’s side. Says Diane,

He’s a Buddha baby. A happy, jolly fatso — he’s 25 pounds and 33 inches! I make all his baby food.

On milestones: He’s standing up and cruising. My office has, like, 17 [baby] gates. It’s fun to just watch him run around. It is everything I thought I was missing.

On vices: [He loves Starbucks.] The cups. He will do anything for a Starbucks cup!

Deal Has Been Reached to End Writers’ Strike: Eisner

news | February 8th, 2008 at 3:33 pm | Share This | 4 Comments »

A deal has been struck between the major media companies and the Writers Guild of America to end the writers’ strike, former Walt Disney chief executive Michael Eisner revealed on CNBC.

“It’s over,” Eisner said. “They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It’s going on Saturday to the writers in general.”

Eisner, speaking live on CNBC’s “Fast Money,” seemed to hesitate initially about whether it was possible that the writers could still reject the agreement, but finally suggested the deal’s acceptance was inevitable.

“A deal has been made, and they’ll be back to work very soon,” Eisner said, adding, “I know a deal’s been made. I know it’s over.”

Eisner did not elaborate on terms of the agreement. He said he expects most of the media companies affected by the strike to have “small” write-downs as a result of the deal. Eisner said the deal was struck last Friday.

As a result of studio cutbacks, however, many of the writers who went on strike are unlikely to return to the same big-money contracts they’d had as individuals with the studios, Eisner said.

The Fast Money host smartly asked Eisner if he was aware of what he was proclaiming over the airwaves, and the guest stuck to his story, saying, “I know the deal’s been made and I know the strike is over. I have some friends in certain places and I believe there was a handshake [agreement] last Friday. It’s possible they [the guild] will turn it down but it would be insane if they [did].”
